Hello my friends, and happy Monday! We had a busy weekend here in Calgary. The back garden needed some attention, we had a housewarming to attend, and I spent some time in my studio. Psssssttt…I’m working on a new Class to Go and Tutorial. You are going to SQUEAL with delight when you see it!
Today’s card is an easy watercolour creation using the Butterfly Basics stamp set. It truly came together in under five minutes!
Creative Tips:
- Get it wet! After creating a pretty watercolour wash background with Pool Party Ink, I stamped the ferns right on top. The colour started to bleed and I helped it a long a little more with my Aqua Painter.
- Stamp and repeat. See that skinny piece of paper with words all over it? I created that by stamping one of the text stamps over and over again on a piece of scrap. Super easy way to create an additional layer for embellishment.
- Heat it up! Make sure you heat set the watercoloured background and ferns with your Heat Tool before stamping the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink. You wouldn’t want your lovely work to be wasted by a bleeding sentiment.
