Salted Background Technique: November Card Club

Hi friends! Thanks for visiting me today! I have a fun technique to share that I did with my SE Calgary Stampin' Up! Card Club in November. I've seen quite a few versions of this technique over the years, so needless to say, I have no idea who first invented it. 

Salted Background How To:

• Using the clear block size of your choice, apply ink to the block by dabbing the ink pad onto the block
• Be sure to work from lightest to darkest (Lost Lagoon, Island Indigo & Night of Navy used here)
• Spritz the block several times with water
• 'Stamp' block onto watercolour paper 
• Before the paper becomes dry, sprinkle with salt
• Spritz paper with water
• Allow to dry (or use the heat tool to speed up this process)

I love how the salt plays with the colours in the ink. Everyone in the group had backgrounds that were completely different, but all were stunning.
